Jobs for all

“FDR gave Americans jobs to build America out of the Great Depression. I will give every American a job to rebuild America for the 21st century. Not only will we fix our roads, bridges, and rails — we will end unemployment forever.”

The Modern New Deal

1. The Investment

  • America’s infrastructure is graded C- by engineers and needs at least $9.1 trillion in upgrades (roads, bridges, ports, energy grids, water systems).

  • My plan goes beyond repair — it will rebuild America for the modern age:

    • High-speed rail systems connecting major cities

    • AI-powered freeways with robotics for traffic safety and management

    • Smart energy grids with renewable integration

    • Modernized bridges, tunnels, ports, and airports built to last

2. The Jobs Program – Ending Unemployment

  • Modeled after FDR’s Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and Works Progress Administration (WPA) of the 1930s.

  • Every American who wants a job will have a job.

  • Deployment Style:

    • Workers are organized into national construction brigades.

    • They live in temporary housing (tents, hotels, basecamps) while on assignment.

    • Support staff (cooks, medics, logistics) are hired and deployed too.

  • Schedule:

    • 2.5 weeks on site

    • 1.5 weeks off at home

    • Rotating deployment, military-style discipline and camaraderie.

3. Pay & Training

  • Starting Pay: $70,000 per year — a true living wage.

  • Raises annually for service and skill.

  • On-the-job training: foremen, journeymen, and master tradesmen teach skills directly.

  • Workers leave not only with a paycheck but with marketable trades skills (construction, engineering, robotics, electrical, plumbing, coding).

4. Financing

  • This will be deficit-financed — just as the government borrows for war, we will borrow for rebuilding.

  • Money is printed for wars, banks, and bailouts — it’s time it was printed for the American people.

  • At $9 trillion, this is a generational investment — but it pays itself back in economic growth, jobs, and a modern America that can compete with China and Europe.

5. Impact

  • End Unemployment: Millions of jobs created. Anyone who wants to work will be employed.

  • Rebuild Communities: Modern, safe roads, bridges, schools, and cities.

  • Strengthen America: A modernized infrastructure strengthens national security, trade, and global competitiveness.

  • Restore Pride: Americans will take pride again in what we built — not what was outsourced.
